Thomas Meacham - Vice President
Thomas Meacham is the Arts Center Director and Assistant Professor of Theatre at Lake Superior State University. After graduating from NYU, he acted regionally at the Dorset Theatre Festival (The Real Inspector Hound), Virginia Shakespeare Festival (As You Like It and The Merchant of Venice), and Ohio Valley Summer Theatre (West Side Story and Big River). He also worked at Circle Repertory Company, assisting the Artistic Director of the LAB and house managing their off-Broadway productions. For the past 20 years, as a Theatre educator, Thomas has taught at private schools (Poly Prep), colleges (Wagner College, LaGuardia Community College, and City College), and universities (University of Connecticut and Lake Superior State University). In 2014, he received a summer fellowship to attend the Mellon School for Theater and Performance Research at Harvard University. More recently, he received two Folger Institute grants for research and teaching in Early Modern England. His book, The Performance Tradition of the Medieval English University: The Works of Thomas Chaundler, was published in January 2020 with De Gruyter.
