2022 Board of Directors Elections

We are accepting nominations for the board through Wednesday October 12. Nominated or self-submitted individuals can work in any capacity in a member organization – all that is required is a passion for arts presenting and a dedication to supporting our industry as we continue to move forward.

Terms are two years in length and will begin officially on January 1, 2023, with transition work with the current board starting in October after elections at the fall gathering on October 19th.

Open positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and two at-large seats. Katie Miller will remain on the board as immediate past president. Email questions or nominations with a short bio and headshot to Katie Miller.

Below are the major current responsibilities for each role of the board. All board members serve in an unpaid, volunteer capacity.
 

President

  • Uphold mission of the Michigan Presenters Network (MPN) and devise and implement overarching goals and strategies for the organization

  • Act as public face for the organization and handle major communications on behalf of MPN; interface with organizations like MACC, Arts Midwest, APAP, and the Presenters Leadership Consortium

  • Fill the MPN seat on the Cultural Advocacy Network Board and attend bi-monthly meetings

  • Lead budgeting, planning, and implementation of MPN gatherings, namely summer conference and fall gathering

  • Manage and execute annual membership drive

  • Maintain organizational files, membership lists, website content

  • Lead monthly board meetings; lead facilitator for new Mentorship Program

  • Determine needs for committees and delegate tasks to board members as needed

 

Vice President

  • Lead board meetings and other MPN gatherings when president is not present

  • Lead committees as determined by president; supports president in goal and strategy implementation

  • Assist with other projects and logistics as necessary

 

Secretary

  • Maintain and distributes all meeting minutes

  • Responsible for creating monthly e-newsletters and other electronic communications, including social media

  • Assist with other projects and logistics as necessary

 

Treasurer

  • Maintains detailed financial records and receipts

  • Receive and disburse funds on behalf of the MPN board

  • Give regular financial updates at business meetings

  • Process payments for annual membership and conference fees and email receipts/invoices to members

  • File taxes and maintain IRS 501(c)3 compliance

  • Assist with other projects and logistics as necessary

 

Past President

  • Advise president and new board members on past procedure and organization

  • Assist with other projects and logistics as necessary

  • Lead meetings when president and VP aren’t available
     

At-Large

  • Lead specialty projects based on interest and skills

  • Assist with planning and execution of annual conference and other member meetings

  • Assist with other projects and logistics as necessary
